About me
Hello,
I am Virginie Valton.
I help wholesalers and importers of French wines create an ideal range that meets the expectations of their customers. This job unites my two passions: wine and travel!
French wine lover
Originally from the South-West, wine is part of who I am. When I started traveling during my studies, I realized that it is a part of our French heritage and know-how. Curious and indulgent, I was interested in the different regions, the grape varieties, the production methods and what makes wines so unique.
Wine is sharing, conviviality and beautiful stories.
A traveler at heart
At the same time, life abroad has always been a common thread of my life. Travel is part of me (when the health crisis does not force me to give it up …). Attracted by foreign cultures and languages, I speak fluent English and Spanish, and I get by in German, Italian and Chinese. This, and my passion for wines, meant that working in the export of French wines and spirits was therefore clear to me.
After 10 years in Bordeaux trading as an export manager – 10 years during which I developed my network, my experience in production, and my sourcing – I founded VBV Wines in 2015.

Personally invested
Ever curious and hungry for knowledge, I have never stopped learning. I obtained the “WSET 3 Wines” and “WSET 2 Spirits” (certification granted in more than 70 countries as international references of specialization in the world of wine and spirits). My priority is to adapt to the needs of my clients.
I attend major international trade shows and visit my clients in person to gain a good understanding of their clientele’s expectations.
Forging social bonds
What I love most about my job is discovering and passing on the history of the winegrower and the passion put into creating the wine. Determined, I have been discovering hidden gems for more than 15 years. I continuously travel through the trade shows and the French vineyards to follow the work of the winegrowers as closely as possible. Witnessing the increasingly frequent climate hazards they face, I became aware of our responsibility towards the environment. I therefore particularly appreciate working with the wines of sustainable, organic, or biodynamic artisan winemakers.

“I travel the vineyard roads to be able to offer the wines of Marie, Vincent, Nicolas and Jean-Marie to Nathaly, Jasper, Michael and Xing. I like the idea of being the link that connects these two worlds. This is where my job really comes into its own.”
